Broadband

Originally broadband services were mostly used for email and Internet data access. Increasingly broadband is now being used for voice traffic, whether this be of the free form offered by Skype, or paid VOIP services using SIP trunks, analogue terminal adapters (ATAs) and other IP or SIP phones.

When voice and data traffic share a single broadband link, the different traffic streams my interfere with each other, potentially leading to poor voice call quality. This may be prevented using Quality of Service (QoS) settings in a professional grade router, giving essential priority to the voice traffic, or provision of a faster broadband service which is able to cater successfully for both traffic streams under most circumstances. Alternatively, firms are increasingly opting for installation of a totally separate broadband service, specifically dedicated to telephony.

We can help with provision of new broadband services, upgrades to cater for increased data and/or voice needs, or additional services to cater for business continuity needs, should the first service ever fail, or for a separate voice service.
