With both IP20 and IP65 rated repeaters, Anybus offers a wide range of different models to cater for a huge potential array of alternative network configurations. In addition to straightforward copper segment in to copper out versions, with single or multiple outgoing segments, we also include versions offering mixed copper and fibre segments to/from a single repeater, also with additional trunk and fibre ring versions offered too.

Most PROFIBUS repeaters operate in transparent mode, with direct incoming signal replication, albeit with re-shaped waveforms, copied onto the outgoing segment or segments. Beyond this arrangement, Anybus also offers an alternative repeater, their ProfiSwitch X5, which enables combining segments operating at different signalling speeds or baud rates! For example, with main input segment speed running at 1.5 Mbps, one or more of the available 5 output segments may be set to operate at normal 1.5 Mbps, with others at 500 kbps and others at 187.5 kbps. Mixed speeds of this nature, as well a possibly catering for older, limited capability slaves, or associated lower performance cables, may also be useful in enabling use of potentially longer outgoing segment cable lengths beyond, in the above example, the normal 200 metre limit for 1.5 Mbps segments, now increased to 400 metres for segments running at 500 kbps or theoretically 1,000 metres for 187.5 kbps segments.

A further option introduced in recent years, has added diagnostic features to a number of their IP20 rated repeaters. These new features are switch selectable for any of these repeaters, which normally operate in the more usual transparent mode, replicating input waveforms onto the output segment(s) and are then invisible to both the PLC Master and any connected diagnostic equipment. When the diagnostic mode is selected for any of these repeaters, that repeater now becomes an active slave on that PROFIBUS network, with normal slave network address set, then returning performance information about itself and the connected segments when addressed by the Master.

Part No. 101-00201A Single channel IP 20 rated DIN rail mounting repeater with dual power supply connectors for added power resiliance and single 9-pin test connector for start of outgoing segment.

All required power and PROFIBUS cable connections are included, together with Tee bar format cable screen grounding clips. Separate slide switches included for each PROFIBUS channel terminator activation.

Anybus D1 PROFIBUS IP67 1+1 Channel Repeater

Part No. 16121 Single channel PROFIBUS IP67 rated repeater with M12 connections for PROFIBUS cables and M8 power plug.

Separate button pads provided for activating input and output PROFIBUS segment terminators, with LED status indication and memory to cope with power cycling. Note additional M12 female connector for monitoring of output segment signal with ProfiTrace or similar analyser.

Anybus T1 Active Terminator

Part No.101-00211A DIN rail mounting Active Terminator for fitting to end of PROFIBUS segments in order to ensure secure powered termination to prevent signal reflections.

Dual power connectors, for added resiliance. 9-pin test point for end of segment waveform checks using ProfiTrace. All required plugs included for power and PROFIBUS cable connections, together with Tee format grounding clips for PROFIBUS cable screens.
